DISMO
Dismo was formed in the mid-90s on the initiative of two brothers, Chris and Damm.
In 2005, they released their first album, “Absurd…”, on CustomCore Records. They then performed alongside bands such as Gojira, Cephalic Carnage, Eths, Artefact and Svart Crown.
Their second album, “Bulls & God”, was released in 2009 by Nip Down Records. DISMO then evolved towards a Stoner Core sound. Unfortunately, the drummer was forced to stop his activity for health reasons, and the band slowly broke up.
In the mid-2010s, the band returned and composed a self-titled album, “DISMO”, in a more Old School Death Metal style. The album was released at the end of 2019, just before the first lockdown, which prevented the group from promoting it on stage.
DISMO took advantage of this break to evolve its style towards harder and darker music. This new artistic direction, which they describe as “Brutal Dark Death Metal”, aims to create a heavy atmosphere through controlled acoustic pressure, channeled raw energy, and sounds and arrangements designed to generate a suffocating sensation tinged with mysticism and horror.
The band’s artistic universe is freely inspired by the work of H.P. Lovecraft, as well as by the worlds of fantasy and horror. The group’s overall identity has become darker, and their stage performance increasingly resembles an occult ceremony. Three albums are planned within this concept.
“The Architect of Chaos” is the first release in this trilogy. It tells the story of an entity (symbolized by the singer on stage) who comes to Earth through a host in order to spread chaos. It consists of nine original tracks, as well as an intro and an outro, both arranged using sounds from real planets.
